Material Handling Shift Leader (2nd Shift)

2nd shift
Summary: 
Ensure the accurate receipt and shipping of material, coordinate and oversee packaging activities and coordinate the activities of Materials employees as needed while providing service to internal and external customers.
Requirements and Education: 

High school diploma or GED required. 2 year proven track record in a manufacturing environment having used an ERP system.

 Must be a non-smoker to work in the chemical production facility.
 Valid driver’s license required for forklift operation.
 Must have 1 to 2 years recent forklift experience.
 Must have Fed-Ex and UPS Worldship experience.
 Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Store materials. Coordinate raw material to Production (activity-based coordination). Obtain and sort product for packing or protection of product, method of bracing or blocking to prevent damage in transit. Responsible for labeling and banding of drums and buckets. Move materials in and out of packaging area. Complete packaging integrity checklists and plan to ship documentation. Inspect materials, products and container at each stop of the packaging process. Process incoming receipts and shipping orders through the internal ERP system. Load or unload trucks. Schedule trucks for delivery/pick-ups. Research and audit inventory. Perform inventory transactions in the ERP system. Develop procedures for receiving and shipping activities. Package materials to support outbound activities. Coordinate and oversee the activities of Materials employees as needed. Support housekeeping activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the Materials control Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
