Millathane® Millable Polyurethane Rubber

Excellent Abrasion Resistance

Urethane is the most abrasion resistant rubber, offering even higher abrasion resistance than natural rubber.

Millable urethanes possess physical properties not found in natural or synthetic rubber such as:

  • Outstanding abrasion resistance (great wear resistance)

  • Excellent oil, oxygen and ozone resistance

  • Excellent gas (e.g., nitrogen) permeability resistance

  • Low temperature flexibility

  • Dynamic load bearing ability

  • High resilience

  • Excellent resistance to compression set

  • Withstands temperatures up to 120° C

Millathane® Millable Urethane Rubber: A Polymer with Excellent Abrasion Resistance

Applications

Millathane millable polyurethanes are used in applications such as business machines, automotive, textiles and footwear. Typical high-performance applications for millable urethane and polyurethane include roller coverings, belts, o-rings gaskets, diaphragms, seals, vibration isolators, bumpers, impellers, hose tube and covers, and shoe soles. Most applications take advantage of urethane's unique combination of good abrasion resistance along with oil and fluid resistance, with inherently good resistance to gas permeability and ozone resistance.
